Oban President, Ken Oxland, welcomed members and guests to the 62nd annual Chartered Dinner of the Club, at the Oban Bay Hotel on Friday 18th November. The evening was hailed as a great success by all those who attended. Fifty nine people were present and were entertained by guest speaker Alex Lochrie, who described himself as an artist and author. It was, however, his experiences as a member of the Foreign Legion, where he served in several of the world's trouble spots, including the first Gulf War, that kept his audience spellbound. All were agreed that his presentation was excellent and he gave some insights into matters not usually highlighted by the media.
