On 2nd November, a team from our club, consisting of Lachie Beaton, Ken Oxland, Jack Tollan and Graham Innes[skip], competed in the annual Rotary Curling Charity Bonspiel, at Perth Ice Rink, organised by Bill Duncan of Perth Rotary Club.
The Oban and Perth teams line up after the game.
Graham prepares the winning stone.
Teams from all over Scotland competed on the day playing 4 short games of 3 ends each. Although not coming away with any silverware, the Oban team won one game [against Perth], drew with Inverness , were beaten by Perth Kinnoull and had a walkover against Forfar [who failed to turn up], so it was a reasonably successful day. The proceeds of the event, plus the raffle monies, were donated to the Matt Murdoch Foundation [a charity set up to assist training young curlers] and the Free to Live Trust [Seemas Childrens Home, India].
