Rotary Club Of Oban 
RAFT RACE 2025
Many people were involved in making the Raft Race 2025 a success. We were able to raise over £1300 thanks to the hard work of MacQueen Brothers, George Street Fish Restaurant, Kay at Bid4Oban, Robert Hamilton for photography, Riccardoughs, Jasmine’s Cakes, Vicki Mackenzie of Argyll and Bute Council, the Oban Sailing Club, and the Lions Club of Oban.
The weather was great, and made for a really special September day on the waterfront for all of Oban.
Teams from AutoGlass, The Oban Distillery, Oban Vets, Ora Rosa, Dunstaffnage Marina, Oban Distribution Services, Oban and Lorne RFC, Scottwood, Oban Sea Cadets, and Oban Recovery took to the sea and valiantly navigated each of their incredibly designed and built rafts. Some were more sea-worthy than others , but fun was had by all.
The winners of the overall race were AutoGlass winning a £100 Golf Lounge Voucher in addition to the trophy. The Best Raft went to No Bikini Bottoms from Dunstaffnage Marina who took away a bottle of 0.0 Rum. Best Sinking, a true honour and inspiration, went to Ora Rosa who earned their £100 Golf Lounge Voucher. Best Fancy Dress was awarded to Natural Disasters from Oban Distribution Services who really wrestled with the competition all day. They walked away with some Haribo and Tunnocks and £40 to boot. The Individual honour for best Fancy Dress is no surprise as a member of the Oban Distribution team, lovingly known as Pink Lycra. He was honoured with Haribo and £40. The team thought to be the most Glamorous was Ora Rosa.
